Linking Camp

All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers are invited to a Linking Camporee at the Yoho Scout Reserve on June 25-27. Special events will be held for each section and the cost is only $10. All groups except Beavers (Saturday only) must come self-contained with all meals the responsibility of the group.

Registration is at 7:00 p.m. Friday, with set-up, wide game and campfire to follow. A super schedule of events is planned for Saturday with the event wrapping up Sunday with breakfast, Scouts Own and Closing Ceremonies (11:30 a.m.).

Work Day at Yoho Scout Reserve

The Yoho Scout Reserve is the pride of the Rivorton Area. It is the largest Scouting property in New Brunswick and has the capacity to support Scouting programs indoors and outdoors in summer and winter.

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, June 5, to help with the many things needing attention to make the Reserve a great place for Scouting events. All groups are asked to get as many of their members (Scout age and over) as possible to attend anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.; lunch will be provided. To encourage competition among the groups, we will be offering a prize of one free weekend in the Yoho Lodge to the Scouting group with the most workers turning out for the Work Day.

There are two major tasks needing attention; sanding and staining some of the exterior of the building and some indoor maintenance as well as maintenance at the Miller Campground. Power sanders and stain brushes are available, but bring your own if you can. Please dress for the weather and bring work gloves. In case or rain, there are tasks to be completed inside.

Challenge Cup Kub Kar Rally

Bernhard Kopp of Rivorton Area’s 1st Springhill pack placed fifth among 38 competitors at the Challenge Cup Rally in Sussex on the weekend. Top trophy winner in an exciting day of racing was Lucas Boudreau of 1st Riverview (South East Area), second place went to Avery Lawton (1st Lakewood, Wabakani Area) and third to Spencer Neilson of 1st Riverview. Alicia Sood of 1st Oromocto (Mysa) picked up the Best Design trophy. Congratulations to all the racers!
