The VE9UNB Amateur Radio Club at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton is planning to host Scouts for JOTA/JOTI. This is a registered Scouting event, where at scout.org the registered Jamboree IDentification number (JID) for this event is Jamboree Puzzle (JamPuz).
WHEN: Saturday, October 19, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m, Atlantic time,
WHERE: University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, Head Hall, room H301 (go in main doors and signs will be available)
WHAT: Scouting youth and Scouters will have the ability to talk with other Scouting youth in this world-wide event on an amazing technology of radio. For those Amateur Radio Operators who may want to join on their own, the available modes, HF, IRLP node 2780, Echolink with VE9EX node number 688500, DMR-MARC on VE9FTN with specific talk groups. Throughout the afternoon, radio contact will be made with other Scouting groups from tharound the world and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m, we hope to link together all the nodes of the International Repeater Group in New Brunswick.
This is an open house type event to come and stay for as long as you want.
